Code Family

The Code family introduced full alphanumeric capability to linear barcodes, enabling industrial, healthcare, and logistics applications that required encoding letters alongside numbers. Each successive member of this family improved upon its predecessor's density, character set, and error-detection capabilities, culminating in Code 128 becoming the dominant general-purpose linear symbology worldwide.
